Cooler Master Storm Xornet – Arming the Budget Gamer

The peripheral market is filled with tons of different products, but rarely do you find one that fits everyones needs perfectly. Perhaps the pickiest of all of them is the mouse, or more precisely, the gaming mouse.

There is never just one mouse that takes the cake, simply due to the fact that the nature of such devices is based off of subjective experiences. Some people love a certain keyboard and mouse, others do not.

Using myself as an example, when I decided to buy a gaming mouse, I spent days reading reviews and trying to find one that best fit my image of a perfect mouse. It needed high DPI settings, a wide array of customization and tweaking capabilities, and nice aesthetics. I settled on the Cooler Master Storm Sentinel Advance. It has been two years since and it runs the same as it did the day I purchased it. In my opinion, it is the best mouse I have ever used.

To put it lightly, I was ecstatic when Cooler Master asked me to review their newest addition into the market: the Cooler Master Storm Xornet. Cooler Master has been developing computer hardware, primarily in the chassis and peripheral market, for many years. They have become a household name in the enthusiast and gaming market, pumping out products not only with brilliant designing and thought, but also making them affordable in the process:

Cooler Master was founded with the mission of providing the industrys best thermal solutions. Since its establishment a decade ago, the company has remained faithful to this mission, emerging as a world leader in products and services for companies dealing with devices where heat issues must be resolved.

In pursuing this mission, Cooler Master is absolutely committed to delivering solutions that precisely meet customer requirements for features, performance, and quality. Moreover, Cooler Master strives to be a reliable long-term partner for their customers that they can truly depend on. Cooler Master aims to be the first and foremost name that comes to mind for companies around the world seeking thermal solutions, and seeks to build such a reputation through outstanding technology, sophisticated design, and superior service.

Cooler Masters current business encompasses a comprehensive line-up of thermal solutions for a full range of applications. Their products range from heat sinks and fans to component housing, chassis, and ducting for computers, industrial machinery, telecommunications equipment, and many other devices.

Regardless of the fact that the Xornet is the lowest-spec addition to the Storm line, I am still expecting big results based off of Cooler Masters reputation.

To whomever “Seeps” is, I find it laughable that you “absolutely marvel at the design and how well it works”. Is this the first pointing device you’ve ever seen before? I marvel at your sense of awe over a mouse design that’s been done dozens of times before.

OMG, I cannot find any claw grip mice that is small yet affordable. This has everything I want…but the low dpi! I wish it had at least 3500 dpi. This seems like the best mouse for my style. I like the grip of the Lachesis, but it was a little too bulky and long for me. I could not reach the side buttons effectively!

Look into the CM Storm Spawn. It’s almost the same mouse, except in red, 3500dpi sensor and allows for macros to be programmed on the thumb buttons! Only $10 more than the Xornet
