Crystal Disk Benchmark is used to measure read and write performance through sampling of random data which is, for the most part, incompressible. Performance is virtually identical, regardless of data sample so we have included only that using random data samples.

For the most part, AS SSD tests can be considered the ‘worst case scenario’ in obtaining data transfer speeds and many enthusiasts like AS SSD for their needs.

NAND is a cyclical market. We are in a boom, but that boom– and it’s associated high pricing, is showing cracks. Demand will diminish and pricing will return to normal. I bought the sn850x 4TB for $226 USD last year, that might never be the case again, but $379 seems like a reasonable price floor , instead of the current price of $599
Stop testing SSD against their caches:
Instead, do a big work load for a long time and see how it behaves after the cache is full to see the real performance of the drive. Make a graph over time to see the drops of performance: that way you can even estimate the cache size and cache type. Sometimes they have multiple layers of caching.
With your tests you are testing the speed of the DDR/SLC cache.
