Our Crystal DiskMark results seem to fall in line with what we received from the Samsung Magician Performance Benchmark. The most noticeable result in this benchmark is the low 4K random write performance of 685MB/s which has never been seen prior.
AS much as this low 4K result may once again be a false negative, one has to wonder as Samsung clearly stated that RAPID Technology was targeting highly incompressible (random) low QD small write files which are exactly what we have here.
Once again, these tests provide some questionable results when we look specifically at 4K-64Thrd (remember low QD) but the low 4K write is once again in line with what we might typically see when comparing to that Crystal DiskMark result.
This AS SSD Copy Benchmark is very interesting as its result shows a definite performance increase to any result we have seen prior. This benchmark is also just about as ‘true to life’ as you can get for tersting as it comprises of simply moving three files from one place to another on the SSD. The result depicts the high transfer speed reached and the time it took to complete the transfer.
Once again, the transfer speeds fall right in line with what we have been seeing, as well as the low 4K IOPS. Discarding any high QD 4K results in testing seems to be the logical thoughts which, again, coincides with Samsung’s description of it’s target disk transfer characteristics.
