In last week’s SSD of the Week we highlighted AMD’s first entry into the SSD market, their Radeon R7. It is a gamer oriented drive that has been developed with OCZ to deliver some great performance. This week we are starting off 2015 by recommending a great performing drive at very good price points, the ADATA SP610.

In our testing the 512GB SP610 has proved to achieve some great performance numbers. Sequential reads and writes match what are advertised. 4K read/write speeds hit around 30MB/s and 135MB/s. And in PCMark Vantage it was able to reach a high of 80K points, topping off our top ten chart!

Overall, the SP610 delivers value to the end user and because of that, it has even earned our Gold Seal in our review here. If you are looking for a new drive for the new year…
