ProGrade Digital PG10.5 USB4 Mini 2TB Portable SSD Review

If you check out our site regularly, you might notice that we are starting somewhat of a ProGrade review kick in the week before Computex 2025.  It’s no coincidence as one day we awoke to find the below stack of goods on our doorstep… all Thunderbolt 4 or USB 4.0 related and all from ProGrade Digital. All fast storage stuff.

To this point, we have reviewed the ProGrade Digital PG20 Pro Thunderbolt 4 Hub,  CFExpress Type-B 4.0 and Type-A 2.0 mobile readers and a 2-pack of their 40Gbps cables.   The report can be found at this link.  Today we are moving on to ProGrades PG10.5 USB4 Mini 2TB Portable SSD, which you will find fits right in their Pro Thunderbolt 4 Hub perfectly.  In fact, we are doing this review with the SSD situated in just this fashion.

The Plate itself can be affixed just about anywhere to which the reader then magnetically attaches to the plate, and is held in place very well. The same magnetic properties are present when situating the reader on the Pro Hub. This features has been a standard with all ProGrade gear. This device is compatible with Thunderbolt 3/4 and USB 3.2/3.1 Type-C ports.

The SSD inside just might be a nationally held secret but we can state that it has to be Gen4 as we do get return speeds in our testing of 4GB/s.  This PG 10.5 is available in the 1, 2, and 4TB capacities, and there is a larger ProGrade external version SSD that we will be reporting on shortly.
