Everest-Based Solid State Drives Offer a Reduced Footprint and Instant Boot-Ups in LG Ultra-Thin Super Ultrabooks

SAN JOSE, CA “ January 9, 2012 – Indilinx, a leading provider of solid state drive (SSD) processors and a subsidiary of OCZ Technology Group (Nasdaq:OCZ), announces OCZ Indilinx SSDs based on the acclaimed Everest Series SATA 3.0 (6Gbps) platform are shipping in LG Electronics thinnest notebook yet, the Super Ultrabook Z300 based on the Intel® Ultrabook initiative.

LG will begin shipping its Z330 Series with the custom designed ultra-slim Everest-based mSATA SSD in 256GB capacities as standard equipment, providing a truly instant-on experience as well as a faster, more energy-efficient storage option than mechanical hard disk drives (HDDs). The custom developed Everest solution is 25 percent slimmer than traditional 9.5mm 2.5-inch laptop hard drives and SSDs, enabling the new breed of LG premium Z330 Ultrabooks to support lower height dimensions without sacrificing storage capacity, speed, or reliability.

As the market for slim form factor notebook computers continues to evolve, Indilinx based solid state drives address the demand for improved performance, increased battery life, and lightweight design functionality.
