Patriot is debuting their latest evolution in SSD technology at CES 2018. The EVLVR Thunderbolt™3 is a portable SSD that delivers 3 times the transfer speeds of traditional external SSDs. The EVLVR utilizes Phison’s E8 PCIe controller and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 1500MB/s, and sequential write speeds of up to 1000MB/s. Thunderbolt 3 connectivity eliminates the need for any external power source, as well as USB-C speeds of up to 40Gb/s. A single Thunderbolt 3 cable simultaneously supports high-performance data devices and high-resolution displays.
According to Les Henry, Patriot’s Vice President of Engineering, “We are pleased to add the Patriot EVLVR Portable SSD to our SSD line, and our team is especially proud of implementing Thunderbolt™3 which allows Patriot to build high-speed and high-quality portable storage solutions.”
The Patriot EVLVR is to be available for public purchase in March of 2018 via select etailers and retailers, as well as via Patriot’s website. Prices are stated as $199.99 for the 256GB version, $289.99 for the 512GB model, and $489.99 for the 1TB option.
