Crystal DiskMark and ATTO represent the two primary test methods utilized by manufacturers to arrive at their listed specifications.  Both confirm that this drive can reach the top of the SATA 2 bandwidth limit and the Crystal DiskMark score displays that that all important low 4kb write access speed to which 60MB/s is an excellent result.

For those new to solid state drives, the two primary influences that produce the visible performance boost we see in the SSD are the disk access time and the low 4kb random disk access speeds.  The 4kb random disk access method represents the most utilized method of disk activity in a typical users daily computer use.

HDTune Pro does an excellent job of confirming what a great SSD this is but it also brings to our attention that the typical access time of the ssd is around 0.1-0.2ms.  This is very important because it is the key factor why solid state drives are making such a quick entrance into the consumer computing environment.  The access time of a hard drive is about 9ms, some 90 times slower than the SSDs access time.
