Although we often use HDTune Pro as a confirmation of our testing, there are a few attributes that stand out with this software. The first is the users visible confirmation that we are reaching SATA 3 speeds consistently as can be seen with the last two charts.
The other characteristic won’t be found in any user manual. It only became apparent through a great deal of testing and pertains to the performance line as seen in the first benchmark. This line (as seen here) is indicative of a system that is comfortable with the SSD. The line is not always the same and we have seen some SSDs that resemble a heartbeat and, in earlier generation testing, this line was never this smooth.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that concern should be pointed at the SSD as responsibility may be attributed to the users OS installation and ‘fine tuning’ rather than the hardware itself. We do know that a solid system will have a result similar to the result above; steady and smooth.
