Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory division of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., is announcing that it has acquired the USB technology and assets of IronKey™ from Imation Corp. Kingston has been a leader in encrypted portable storage solutions for businesses for over 10 years, when they launched their first DataTraveler encrypted USB Flash drive. IronKey is one of the top competing brands of encrypted USB Flash drive solutions, and has been part of Imation since 2011. Kingston’s acquisition of IronKey creates an even more comprehensive offering of products and services, and shows that Kingston is committed to being a global leader in trusted encrypted storage solutions for mobile data.
Kingston would like to assure all involved that there will be no immediate changes to how business is conducted by channel partners who currently support IronKey products during the integration process. Kingston has a strong global reputation for its level of service and dedication to its partners, distributors and resellers. Their goal during this period is to maintain strong communication and customer relationships. IronKey customers with concerns or questions should contact their current reseller partner or distributor; or they can email email@example.com.
Additionally, encryption services leader DataLocker Inc. has purchased the IronKey Enterprise Management Services (EMS) platform, which provides centralized management for encrypted USB drives. DataLocker had previously acquired BlockMaster’s SafeConsole management system. SafeConsole is the solution that Kingston currently uses for its management-ready encrypted USB Flash drives.
According to Nate Steffens, VP of commodity Flash at Kingston, “The addition and integration of the IronKey brand with our own award-winning line of DataTraveler encrypted USB drives provides a dynamic range of encrypted solutions for customers of all levels who want to protect mobile data. Having our great partner DataLocker manage both the EMS and SafeConsole platforms is a win for all of our combined customers. We look forward to extending our relationship with DataLocker.”
Additional information will be provided during the RSA Conference 2016 in San Francisco, CA from February 29th through March 4th. Kingston representatives will be available for questions and/or meetings at the DataLocker booth (North Expo #N3134).
