Without a doubt, one of the highlights of this Test bench just has to be our Zotac RTX 3080 Trinity OC Graphics Card which has caused quite a stir since even before its purchase. First off, this was a business purchase and a huge thank you to Cherry and Zotac for finding availability when it just isn’t there worldwide. My better half will be the first to explain the price of this card in ‘all-inclusive paid vacations’ as CA/US exchange, taxes, shipping and import fees easily made this the most expensive business purchase this company has made to date. Gotta admit; it is one very attractive card.
The Zotac Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity OC is a PCIe 4.0 x16 10GB GDDR6X graphics card with a Engine Clock Boost of 1740MHz and a memory clock of 19Gbps. It has HDCP 2.3 support, fully capable of supporting a quad display system, has 320W power consumption and has a 2 x 8-pin power assignment.
Its display outputs consist of 3 x Display Port 1.4a (Up to 7680×4320@60Hz) and HDMI 2.1 capable of same with a ultra high speed HDMI cable. A 750W PSU is recommended for this card, it has IceStorm 2.0 cooling and it’s supported OS is Windows 10 64-Bit (build 2004 or later).
We decided to push it with the newest 3D Mark Time Spy Extreme as it is optimized for CPU’s with 8 or more cores and is able to utilize AVX2 and AVX512 instruction sets. Let’s top this software off with the test at the level of our system monitor, 4K graphics.
Even in the tougher environment, the trinity pushed out Graphics scores of 8552 and an overall score of 8038, still placing better than 94% of all GPUs tested at this level.
These results seem to fall in line with performance testing also conducted with PassMark 2D and 3D Graphics Performance Benchmarks. We had also posted the AIDA64 GPGPU results a bit earlier with the Intel CPU for reference.
Price and availability. Right now there are no RTX 30 series GPUs available worldwide short of a lucky order placement and significant wait before receipt. The price of GPU’s has gone sky high, the result of crypto-mining. Checking Amazon, there are plenty there but you are going to be paying well above double the cost simply to get your hands on that card. Hopefully, we will see this ease up soon enough and get pricing to where it should be.
