Intel is announcing several new families of 3D NAND SSDs, for applications that cover consumers, business, data centers and Internet of Things (IoT). These new SSDs are reported to be the first of many upcoming offerings that utilize Intel 3D NAND technology.
In the client space, the first series is the Intel® SSD 600p Series, that are geared towards the consumer client market for notebooks, laptops and desktop PCs. The SSD 600p Series utilizes a PCIe Gen3x4, NVMe interface to provide superior performance, yet at mainstream price points. The SSD 600p Series provides performance that is up to 3 x that of SATA SSDs, and up to 17 x that of mechanical HDDs.
The business client market is covered by the Intel® SSD Pro 6000p Series, for use in business laptops, notebooks and desktops. The Pro 6000p Series aligns with the current (and future) generation of Intel® Core™ vPro™-based devices to provide enterprise-ready levels of security, management and power-efficient performance. The Pro 6000p Series utilizes the PCIe interface to provide performance, and is constructed to the highest reliability and quality standards, and provides a lower total cost of ownership (TCO).

In the Internet of Things category, the Intel® SSD E 6000p Series are able to be used with current (and future) generations of Intel® Core™ vPro™ processors to create increased security, manageability and performance. Produced in the M.2 form factor for usage flexibility, the SSD E 6000p Series uses the PCIe interface, and is ideal for point-of-sale devices and digital signage.
The Intel® SSD E 5420s Series offers added data protection to ensure that data is reliably read and written, even in the event of an unanticipated power interruption. The SSD E 5420s Series utilizes the SATA interface to provide performance that is superior to mechanical Hard Disk Drives for IoT usage scenarios.
On the Data Center side, we have the Intel® SSD DC P3520 Series, which has been optimized for cost-effective performance. The SSD DC P3520 Series is ideal for cloud computing-based read-intensive applications, including web hosting and storage virtualization. Intel’s PCIe SSDs utilizing 3D NAND technology are a cost-effective choice for deploying multiple NVMe-based storage arrays that often process large data sets.
The Intel® SSD DC S3520 Series are the SATA-based versions of the SSD DC P3520 Series. For those making their first transition from mechanical Hard Disk Drives to SATA SSDs, the SSD DC S3520 Series provides significant improvements in both latency and throughput performance.
