3D MARK STORAGE GAMING BENCHMARK
UL Solutions has created a new storage gaming benchmark that we will start to use as new SSDs come in. The 3DMark Storage Benchmark DLC extends 3DMark Advanced Edition with a dedicated component test for measuring the gaming performance of SSDs and other storage hardware. It supports all the latest storage technologies and tests practical, real-world gaming performance for activities such as loading games, saving progress, installing game files, and recording gameplay video streams.
The Crucial T710 placed second of all SSDs tested to date on 3DMark Storage Benchmark.

REPORT ANALYSIS AND FINAL THOUGHTS
The Crucial T710 Gen5 SSD is the first consumer release worldwide where an SSD uses the latest Micron G9 276-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory, although we have seen a first look with our review of the Micron 4600 Gen5 Client SSD.
The T710 placed in the ‘Top 10’ of every test we threw at it and four times in the top three, chasing that WD_Black SN8100 Gen5 SSD. These are, or rather will be very shortly, the two top SSDs available to the consumer today.
The Crucial T710 returned throughput data transfer speeds above 14GB/s and reached over 2 million IOPS in our synthetic testing and performed exactly as we expected it might, like a fine tuned version of its twin Micron 4600 Gen5 SSD that we raved about not so long ago.
The T710 is MS DirectStorage compatible, comes with a 5-year limited warranty, pricing is a bit high but to be expected for a top performing Gen5 SSD that has just been released and this SSD appears to be available everywhere. Editor’s Choice.

Thanks so much for this Les. You promised and you delivered. It will be interesting to see which one, WD or Crucial, finishes on top when the WD heatsink versions become available. And a white version wouldn’t hurt. Now on to the 4th of July and Labor Days sales!
In the last bar chart of page 4 (Final Fantasy XIV) one of the bars is labeled “WD_Black SN850X Gen5 8TB”. Shouldn’t that be Gen4?
You are absolutely correct and thank you. Will amend for future charts, as well as past charts as time permits!
