NINTENDO SWITCH 2 GAME DATA TRANSFER COMPARISON
For this test, the SanDisk 256GB microSD Express Memory Card is installed into the Switch 2 and game data is moved from the console to the card and then moved back to the console, both timings being measured and recorded. The size of the data being moved is 34.4GB.
NINTENDO SWITCH 2 GAME LOAD TIME COMPARISON
This benchmark entails transfering all game data to the storage card and measuring the time for the game to start, drawing data from that SDXC Express card.
MICROSDXC EXPRESS SUSTAINED WRITE COMPARISON
In order to obtain sustained write performance, an 85GB file is transferred from the PC to the microSDXC Express card via the SanDisk Dual Card SD Express Card Pro-Reader. By using this reader, data transfer was achieved while maintaining a suitable card temperature. The sustained write result of the SanDisk 256GB microSDXC card was determined to be 214MB/s.
When compared to the three other SD Express cards we have on hand, SanDisk held the third spot as shown here:
All four microSDXC Express cards did very well in sustained write testing, however an additional kudos to SanDisk for posting their minimum sustained write speed of 210MB/s right there on the front of their packaging. We can also relate that, included within SanDisk 256GB microSDXC Express Memory Card SSD packaging, was a free two year subscription to RescuePro Deluxe Recovery software.

REPORT SUMMARY AND FINAL THOUGHTS
microSDXC Express cards are new to the storage scene but they are sure to make quite an impact as they push forward data transfer speeds leaps and bounds. Where we can see them now in the Nintendo Switch 2 Gaming console, they will be found in cameras, drones, surveillance systems and any other small digital media that requires microSD cards presently. microSDXC Express is the future and SanDisk has jumped aboard early with their microSDXC Express Card and Pro-Reader tested in this report.
