KIOXIA Displays BG5 & CD7 PCIe 5 SSD Within Amazing Virtual Experience Center – CES 2022

CES 2022 has come and gone once again and estimates are that this year may have experienced an attendance drop of at least 75% not including companies that cancelled last minute as a result of the latest Omicron COVID-19 variant.  It is unfortunate but, in so many ways, life goes on and we all have to adapt and carry on.  We had flights and hotels booked with full expectations of attending until Canada’s restrictions threatened a last minute change, the unfortunate reality being another virtual CES and another year away from close friends and allies.

KIOXIA is a company we had fully expected to meet with right off and I was personally looking forward to seeing their newest BG5 NVMe SSD up and running first hand.  The BG5 is KIOXIA’s latest DRAM-less PCIe 4 client SSD that will be available in capacities up to 1TB and have performance that will peak at 3.5GB/s and can be integrated in as small as a 2230 (30mm) footprint.  And then there would have also been the latest and greatest KIOXIA CD7 PCIe 5 NVMe Data Center SSD which is an industry first, as well as the 7GB/s KIOXIA XD6 Gen4 NVMe SSD in KIOXIA’s EDSFF E1.S form factor…

All is not lost though.  Most definitely a highlight of CES is the work that KIOXIA has gone to in creating it’s Virtual Experience Center as shown below.  One has to take a walk through to believe this.
