ProGrade PG25 Thunderbolt 5 Dock Sets a New Bar for Perfection

If you’ve followed our work for any length of time, you already know my affinity for ProGrade equipment. It’s been that way for quite some time, and in many respects, I’m probably the ideal ProGrade client. My work goes well beyond reviewing digital gear and flash technology. I shoot tens of thousands of photos and videos each month, all of which flow through the PG20 Dock Thunderbolt 4 and ProGrade readers to my PC, and then most often onto one of my PG10 external SSDs for storage. I snapped this photo two years back while travelling across Canada with The Rolling Barrage, a Coast to Coast annual ride to combat PTSD.

Only a few months back, we reported on the ProGrade Digital PG20 Thunderbolt 4 Hub, along with PGM12 Single Slot USB4 CFExpress Type-A Memory Card Reader, Single Slot USB4  CFExpress TypeB Memory Card Reader, a two-pack of USB4 40Gbps flex cables, PG10 4TB External Solid State 4.0 Workflow Drive, PG10.5 4.0 2TB External Mini Solid State Workflow Drive, 1.6TB CFexpress Cobalt 4.0 Type-B Memory Card, PGD Gold 2TB CFExpress Type-B 4.0 Memory Card, and the Gold 480GB CFExpress 2.0 Type-A VPG 200 Memory Card.  This was ProGrades move to Thunderbolt/USB 4.0 and those reports can be found here.  Pure digital perfection at last…

On the back is the power port, three 15 watt 80Gbps Thunderbolt 5 downstream ports, another USB 3.2 10Gbps Type-C port along with a 2.5 Gbe high speed ethernet port.

One of the most beautiful features of the PG25 is that the new 80Gbps transfer speed allows for simultaneous connection of dual 4K 144 Hz/8K 60Hz displays

As well, we are free to connect as many devices as we may have on hand.  In our setup as seen here, we have included the original PG20 in our build, along with our PG10, CFExpress A and B, along with SD and microSD readers.
