Seagate Technology plc, a world leading producer of storage devices, is announcing the new Nytro XF1440 (2.5″) and Nytro XM1440 (M.2) NVMe solid state drives (SSDs). Also being announced is the XP6500 Flash Accelerator Card. These latest offerings from Seagate further expand their flash-based solutions portfolio, which are easily combined with Seagate storage products to satisfy nearly any data storage requirements.
Both cloud and enterprise end users, along with cloud OEMs and system partners, will benefit from these new products and their highest levels of reliability and endurance. The new drives and the accelerator card are geared toward demanding enterprise applications, including online transaction processing (OTLP), high-performance computing (HPC), high frequency trading, data warehousing/mining/analytics, and mixed workloads of varying I/O sizes and multiple applications being utilized simultaneously.
Seagate’s Nytro XF1440 and XM1440 are ultra-small (M.2 and 2.5″) form factor NVMe SSDs with industry-leading performance and power efficiency. By providing a balance of performance and power, these SSDs are designed to offer increased storage density, while reducing a data center’s power usage and storage footprint. The Seagate Nytro XP6500 is a PCIe flash accelerator card that offers the lowest latency of any current Nytro product, providing improved response times for applications that require high IOPS and the bandwidth to handle a wide spectrum of workloads.
According to Brett Pemble, vice president of flash products for Seagate cloud systems and electronics solutions, “These new flash products greatly expand the range of our total product portfolio and demonstrate how Seagate’s acquisition of the LSI flash technologies is paying off. With these products, Seagate’s commitment to the modern datacenter is clear. The Nytro XF1440/XM1440 SSDs deliver the highest performance in the smallest power envelope. The XP6500 flash accelerator card provides ultra-low latency capability for applications that require fast logging and produce significantly higher transactions per second, -something today’s applications demand.”
The Seagate Nytro XP6500 Flash Accelerator Card is available today. The Nytro XF1440 (2.5″ form factor) SSD is to be released late in October, and the XM1440 (M.2 form factor) SSD is anticipated for early 2016 availability. These latest Seagate flash products are being displayed and demonstrated this week at Flash Memory Summit in Santa Clara, Ca.
You can visit Seagate at booth #’s 505, and #700-702. Don’t miss the live demonstrations of the XP6500 flash accelerator card in conjunction with a 92TB array of Seagate’s recently announced 1200.2 SAS SSDs to achieve a mind-blowing 3.2 million IOPS and 20GB/s data transfer speeds.
Phil Brace, president of Seagate cloud systems and electronic solutions, is to present the keynote address on Wednesday 8/12 at 2:00pm PST, titled ‘Flash and Hard Drives: A Winning Combination for Future Data Centers’. He will address combining flash memory and hard drives, creating a cost-sensitive and efficient data center that utilizes existing storage assets while providing an appreciable return on investment.
