Crucial is announcing its newest consumer M.2 NVMe SSD, designated as the Crucial P1. Available in capacities up to 2TB, the P1 gets you in the game faster, as well as storing reams of precious memories. The P1 provides the ideal storage upgrade, providing speed, storage capacity and dependability.
Crucial if offering the P1 in capacity points of 500GB, 1TB and 2TB. The P1 features Micron 3D NAND and user-upgradeable firmware. Random 4K read and write speeds improve as the capacity increases, with the 500GB version attaining random read speeds of up to 90,000 IOPS and random write speeds of up to 220,000 IOPS. The 1TB version improves to random reads/writes of 170,000 IOPS / 240,000 IOPS, and the 2TB version improves even further, with random reads/writes of up to 250,000 IOPS / 250,000 IOPS respectively.
The P1’s 500GB model is able to attain sequential read speeds of up to 1900MB/s, with sequential write speeds of up to 950MB/s. The 1TB model delivers sequential read speeds of up to 2000MB/s, with sequential write speeds of up to 1700MB/s. The 2TB version improves the sequential writes speeds a tad more yet, achieving up to 1750MB/s.
The Crucial P1 was subjected to thousands of hours of Micron pre-release validation and qualification. Crucial is backing the P1 with a five-year limited warranty. Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) is stated as 1.5 million hours. As is to be expected, endurance increases as capacity increases.
Your new Crucial P1 packaging will include the drive, Acronis® TrueImage™ cloning software, and installation instructions. Crucial lists the 500GB model of the P1 on its website at an MSRP of $109.99 (US).
