What better way to start CES this year than to spend time with Lexar, members of the Argentina Football Team and to actually get a hands on with the World Cup! Lexar announced their global partnership with AFA at an amazing release event in Las Vegas’ Museum of Illusions, tying this into some amazing ground breaking storage product releases. We will get to the event pics in time but let’s look at some of Lexar’s storage entries first!
First up is the worlds first and fastest microSDXC card, the Lexar Professional SILVER PLUS. This card is UHS-1 and will reach speeds up to 255MB/s read and 180MB/s write and is ideal for 4K60P video recording.
The Lexar 2TB SILVER PLUS is ideal for such things as video surveillance, drones, action cams and anything that needs mass storage of a compact nature and is V30 U3 A2 industry accredited.
Next up, we have the Lexar Air Portable SSD decked out in an extremely limited version with Argentina Footbal team colors. This new external ultra light SSD weighs only 0.6oz, is available in aqua blue and black, and is 1TB which can hold up to 300,000 plus photos or 18000 minutes of HD video.
While using the Lexar App, the Lexar Air Portable can also perform an auto backup of 1GB in data in as fast as 3 seconds. It also has standard thermal protection and can sustain a 2m drop.
This is a Lexar project we have been following for some time, the Lexar AI Storage Core. It consists of a Lexar AI Storage Core SSD, AI Storage Core Stick and a PCIE Gen 4 receiver which looks at SSD storage in a whole new and much faster way.
Presently, there is no media on the market that can get you PCIe 4.0 speeds on a compact storage card. This system allows the portable Lexar AI Storage card to interact with the PCIe 4.0 lanes directly, providing the worlds fastest speeds in a fully removal hand held card the same size as a PCExpress Type B card.
In addition to this gear, Lexar has also introduced the Lexar Play X Gen 4 M.2 SSD which is capable of speeds up to 7400MB/s read and 6500MB/s write, along with the Lexar TouchLock Portable SSD. This SSD is the world’s first NFC dual-encryption portable SSD, featuring NFC authentication and 128-bit AES hardware encryption. Using a
smartphone as the key, users can tap to unlock secure storage zones, paired with automatic photo backup in a slim magnetic design.
Last but not least, Lexar has joined hands with Argentina Football for a global partnership that will provide some incredible visibility for both organizations. Having the FIFA World Cup Trophy on hand was a totally unexpected plus for this event. Better yet Sergio Goycochea, Roberto Ayala, Walter Samuel and Leandro Petersen were in attendance to pass on a few of their experiences first hand.
