In reply to Matiasobera. It will most likely work on it, however, I might check around for any bios concerns depending on the release of the laptop. SATA 1 will only bottleneck performance in data transfer and you will still see the visible increase in startup and typical system use.

I have an HP Pavilion tx2500 I’m pretty sure it has SATA1. Will the Vertex 3 work on it? I plan to do it and then when I update my laptop I’ll change the SSD to the new laptop.

Thanks for the quick reply. What about in a SATA I system? Do you think the vertex 3 will outperform (by a reasonable amount) any other SSD (like c300, x25m, vertex 2)… as I read that the V3 did not perform as well on SATA II… hence me wondering about SATA I too. Cheers, Greg

Hi. I have an X61s laptop (SATA 1 – possibly SATA 2 with bios upgrade). My question is… what is the best SSD (120GB ish) to get? Is the vertex 3 the one to get, because the 4K performance is so good?

SITE RESPONSE: Yes, the 4 k will be just as good in a SATA II system.

I’am with you. I process photos and video so have highly compressed data. I await the updated Revodrive with the computer case opened and the pci express slot saying “put me here”.
