In reply to Fred. I am sorry to confuse you Fred. When they speak of the SF-2000 controller, they speak of the entire family of controllers which includes the SF-2281 controller we discussed. if there is any conclusion, we have supplied ample piks to help you along. tx!

On page 1 you said that the series GT “utilizes the top quality SF-2281 processor”.

According to the Corsair website, the Series 3 and Series GT both use the
SF-2200 controller.

Maybe that’s why the difference in performance is next to nothing.

At this time, the price difference isn’t much. After rebates, some of the GT models are
actually cheaper.

Hello. Gonna go with the corsair force 3 GT thanks to this review 🙂 mainly because of the bit at the end saying you probably won’t notice a difference… But also the price I found one for is amazing. Would have rather gone with the regular force 3 but after reading all the horror stories.. I decided not to.

Had a vertex 2 in the past and was blown away by the speed compared to a tradtitional HDD but because of the OCZ sneaky marketing thing where they used different die size/nand or whatever it was… I returned it.

Good decision on my part I think because this is gonna end up not much more expensive then the vertex 2 yet has the potential for being twice as fast! (as soon as I upgrade to sata 3 which maybe a while off haha).

I like the red color of the GT but since I’m just an everyday user who will use the drive only for holding Windows, I went with the Force 3.
