The name is the hint: it’s not ATA nor SATA and not NVMe, it is …. So CrystalDiskInfo is full of it. Get smartmontools (version 7.3 was just released) but I don’t see anything specific for Silicon Motion in there. So this USB device accepts standard SCSI commands over a UASP transport. And one of those SCSI commands is the ATA PASS-THROUGH (3 variants) which is often used in non-standard ways to tunnel SMART commands to SATA and NVMe devices behind UASP.

Ho to achieve 2 GB/s? I mean, I have tested it on iMac 27-inch (mid 2017) which has Thunderbolt 3 ports and only reaches 1 Gb/s.
