Samsung EVO Plus 128GB microSDXC Card Review – Performance and Speed

AS SSD BENCHMARK VER 1.8

The toughest benchmark available for solid state drives is AS SSD as it relies solely on incompressible data samples when testing performance. For the most part, AS SSD tests can be considered the ‘worst case scenario’ in obtaining data transfer speeds and many enthusiasts like AS SSD for their needs.

Performance in AS SSD is as expected and we omitted the 4K portion of the tests as they each take in excess of 15 minutes and serve no true purpose in our test scenario.  We are well aware of the very low 4K performance, as is the norm for media cards such as this.

REPORT SUMMARY AND FINAL THOUGHTS

Flash technology has jumped leaps and bounds in recent years and, where we saw 128GB capacities only in notebook SSDs some years back, today’s microSD card trumps that by reaching capacities as high as 256GB.

Considering, it is absolutely amazing that the drive we tested here can store up to 11,500 songs, 27,600 photos, 23 hours of HD video or 6 hours of 4K UHD video.

Compatibility is another huge factor, with the Samsung EVO Plus compatible with just about every device one can think of.  Factor in performance, capacity, along with the 10  year warranty and the Samsung EVO Plus microSDXC Card is deserving of our Gold Seal.

Just got this; evo+[U3] 128gb. There’s SO many fakes goin around online/on ebay, they’re hard to avoid. Thought i got one of the better fakes (not the “made in China” w/black edges). Tested with sdtestw or watever – confirmed it was 128gb after like 3 or 4 hours ?.
THEN i was getting slow read/write speeds & thought maybe it was just an off brand- made to look like samsung. But i tried it on a newer laptop, and got 60&77MB/s sustained transfer speeds using the adapter to transfer an 800MB movie on & off. Says made in Philippines, but… It’s in the right direction. All text & colors look good. I guess it’s legit
