There&#039;s few issues with USB 3.1 versions.

1) They won&#039;t be any faster as right now all the controllers are mostly still SATA
based, so you are limited to 450ish MB/s.

2) Any PCIe based drives will likely require additional power and its very
difficult to bridge a pcie drive to a usb port (lots of power remapping and
controllers required)

3)There still aren&#039;t any IC available for the USB 3.1 to SATA bridges. We hope these become available in early 2016, with 1-2 months of development time required after that.

We are actively looking at the possibility of expanding the Pocket SSD lineup, and as technologies improve, we will add more versions.]]></description>
