Really??? Where are these early reviews, cause i didn’t find any. It can’t be fixed because it’s a hardware problem. The drive heats up because the cooling isn’t adequate, and the only thing you can do about that is make the drive throttle until it reaches reasonable temps. And transferring large files doesn’t heats up the drive as much as random reads/writes do.

The early reviews on the Visiontek says it doesn’t have the overheat and slow down issue the Mushkin does.

yes but the problem is that the mushkin ventura ultra, overheat, throttle and have a very high failure rate. So i expect the same from this one.

They are not claiming to be the “world’s first” or anything like that. It is really quite common in the storage industry for other companies to come out with their own version of someone else’s ground-breaking product. Many, many press releases can be read as “We too are now offering such a product.”
