I still dont get, why they bother with special interfaces, if we have ONFi and toggleddr interface allready.

Ditch the whole emmc/ufs deal entirely and move to onfi/toggleddr interface and integrade ssd controller directly to the SoC. That would mean better IO and much wider selection of NAND. And cheaper too, as emmc solutions tend to be more expensive.
