VeloBit Announces Caching Software Trial Bundle Featuring Micron SSDs

VeloBit, a provider of high-performance SSD caching software, is announcing a trial sampling program via a bundle that will feature PCIe and SATA SSDs from Micron Technology, Inc.  Potential customers will be able to receive a 60-day free trial to evaluate the use of VeloBit’s HyperCache software bundled with certain PCIe and SATA SSDs from Micron.  Customer looking to integrate SSDs into their IT infrastructure can take advantage of this unique opportunity.

This jointly-qualified bundle would benefit customers looking to accelerate applications that may be currently I/O bound; and would boost overall database capacity.  Via this “bundled” solution, customers can experience an increase in applications performance and capacity by up to 20X — without changing their applications or primary storage!

Duncan McCallum, CEO of VeloBit, states “Micron is recognized for delivering performance and reliability with their line of enterprise Flash storage solutions.  The sampling program with Micron enables us to offer a free evaluation of a complete solution for customers that don’t yet have SSDs.  Customers can have a trial up and running in a few hours without working through an SSD purchasing process. This joint solution will accelerate adoption of our performance-leading SSD caching software and speed SSD adoption in the enterprise.”

And from Kevin Dibelius, senior manager for Micron’s NAND Solutions Group:  “Performance, reliability, and low latency are key attributes important for flash storage in the enterprise and Micron is able to deliver on those with our line of enterprise SSDs.  Bundling Micron PCIe and SATA SSDs with VeloBit’s HyperCache caching software enable customers to quickly and easily experience the performance gains of enterprise flash storage in their existing systems.”

With TCO (total cost of ownership) being a key metric for decision-makers when it comes to enterprise storage applications, VeloBit and Micron may just have a winning strategy on their hands with this “free trial”.  With the performance increases almost being able to “sell themselves” once witnessed, and little to no cost involved in being able to “witness” this upgrade, a lot ot IT pros’ interest should be piqued by this unique offer.  VeloBit has chosen a partner with a rock-solid reputation in Micron for this “bundled” offer.
