Transcend Announces 1TB Version of MTS800 M.2 SSD – Large Capacity in 2280 Form Factor For Ultra-Thin Computing Devices

Transcend Information, Inc., a leading producer of storage and multimedia devices, is announcing availability of their new MTS800 solid-state drive (SSD) in a 1TB version in the M.2 2280 form factor. The MTS800 is ideal for providing large storage capacity for ultra-thin computing devices, such as laptops, Ultrabooks and tablets.

Transcend’s MTS800 utilizes high-quality MLC NAND flash memory and the SATA III 6 Gb/s interface to provide both superior performance and excellent stability, attaining sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s, and sequential write speeds of up to 460 MB/s. The MTS800 series of M.2 SSDs now offers a broader range of available capacities, from 32GB all the way up to the 1TB version to satisfy the needs of various configurations and devices and budgets.

Also included in the MTS800 series of M.2 SSDs are protective technologies that include global wear-leveling, advanced garbage collection, and Error Correction Code (ECC) to protect data integrity and prolong SSD lifespan. The MTS800 also supports S.M.A.R.T. drive performance and health monitoring attributes, as well as Device Sleep mode.

Transcend’s MTS800 M.2 SSDs also support Intel Smart Response Technology (ISRT), allowing the SSD to be utilized as a caching drive between a hard disk drive (HDD) and the computer system to provide extended storage capacity along with improved performance and overall efficiency. Transcend backs the MTS800 series of M.2 SSDs with a three-year limited warranty.
