Team Group Announces L3 EVO SATA 3.0 (6Gb/s) SSD — Will Aggressive Pricing Set a New Cost-to-Performance Ratio?

Team Group, a world-leading producer of memory devices, is announcing an all new SSD, designated as the L3 EVO. Team Group’s latest SSD offering is being touted for its excellent cost-to-performance ration, and they are prepared to rattle the industry’s cage a bit with what we assume will be very aggressive price points. The L3 EVO is set to be an excellent upgrade option for any computing device that currently uses an HDD, including desktops, notebooks, and embedded systems.

Team Group L3 EVO bannerTeam Group is utilizing a quad-core, 8-channel controller (likely Phison’s S10) to achieve sequential read speeds of (up to) 530MB/s, and sequential write speeds of (up to) 500MB/s. Random 4K read speeds are stated as (up to) 85,000 IOPS, with random 4K write speeds of (up to) 60,000 IOPS. Performance varies by drive capacity.

It is compatible with Windows versions XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1; as well as Linux Kernel 2.6.31 or later. Team Group is stating a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 1,000,000 hours. Team Group is backing the L3 EVO to the tune of a three-year warranty.
