TCS Announces Ultra-Compact BGADrive SSD In SATA And PATA Versions

TeleCommunications Systems (TCS) is announcing availability of its ultra-compact BGADrive solid-state drive (SSD).  TCS is a world-leading specialist in ultra-rugged solid-state drives utilized in the harshest environments.  TCS offers both industry-standard and customized versions of its SSDs for military, aerospace, and industrial uses.  The BGADrive is now available in both serial ATA (SATA) and parallel ATA (PATA) interfaces.  These new rugged SSDs would be right at home in unmanned aerial vehicles, wearable computers, and miniature embedded systems applications.

TCS’ AS9100-certified American facility manufactures the BGADrive line.  They are outside-lab certified to meet MIL-STD-810 requirements for shock, vibration, temperature range, temperature shock, humidity, and altitude.  Both SATA and PATA versions of the BGADrive are packaged in an ultra-compact 31mm x 31mm ball grid array, making them ideal for situations where space is hard to come by.  The BGADrives include an SSD controller that provides complete, on-the-fly error correction and end-to-end error detection by using a cycling redundancy check code to ensure reliable data storage and retrieval.
