Learn What SSDs Can Do For You:

Z68 UD7 Test Bench

Our Z68 UD 7 test Bench is contained within a Fractal Design Define XL silent chassis and the motherboard of choice is the Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7 motherboard.  Just as with our Z68 Extreme 7 Test Bench, the CPU in use is the Intel Core i7-2600k Sandy Bridge processor, however, this time we are relying on 8GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 SDRAM.

Our graphics card is an ASUS EN210 512MB DDR 3 Silent and we have just upgraded the system with an OCZ ZX Series 850 watt Power Supply Unit.  Our CPU Cooler is once again the Corsair H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler and our choice for this, for the most part, is a result of its complete silence.

For this bench,we rely on the ASUS USB-N10 WiFi N-150 USB Adapter which is hooked into our ASUS Diamond RT-N56U WiFi Router.

As for our other equipment we have two Samsung 27″ S27A350H 1920 x 1080 monitors up front along with a Dell ST 2220T 21″ Touch Screen for viewing,  a Samsung CLX-3185FW color laser printer, any number of Microsoft keyboards and mice, any SSD one can think of and a few other hand built systems which we will describe in the following pages.

Our next shot is of the Control Center….
