X79 Fatal1ty Test Bench

Our newest addition to the family is our ASRock X79 Fatal1ty Test Bench which is housed within the Special Edition Corsair White Graphite Series 600T Mid-Tower Case.

Things we like about the case, other than the large window on the right side, include the ease of removing either side panel along with a quick pull of the latch, ability to secure the case with an included key, tool free optical bays and the fact that the space within for installation of your hardware makes it hard to believe this is a mid-tower chassis.

On the front, we have an ASUS DRW-24B1ST DVD Burner along with a ‘must have’ for any SSD Reviewer, the Icy Dock 4 in 1 SSD RAID Cage which allows the hot swapping of up to four SSDs in one 5.25″ storage slot on the front of the 600T.

From there, we have to mention our use of 3 Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 fans, two of which we swapped out the 600T 200mm fan for and the other which replaced the stock Corsair H80 fan with. These are absolutely the quietest fans I have ever run into without the loss of any airflow in result.

Getting to the meat and gravy, our motherboard of choice is the ASRock X79 Fatal1ty Professional along with the Intel Core i7-3820 Quad Core CPU and 16GB of Patriot Viper Xtreme DDR3-1866Mhz RAM.  To follow the Fatal1ty theme, we have installed the OCZ 1000 watt Fatal1ty Champion Series modular PSU.

Our CPU cooler in several of our systems is the Corsair H80 Liquid CPU Cooler which is completely silent , the MSI N560 GTX-Ti Twin Frozr 2/OC 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 graphics card as well as the D-Link Xtreme N Desktop DWA-556 PCIe Adapter which is hooked into our ASUS Diamond RT-N56U WiFi router.

As for our other equipment we have two Samsung 27″ S27A350H 1920 x 1080 monitors up front along with a Dell ST 2220T 21″ Touch Screen for viewing,  a Samsung CLX-3185FW color laser printer, any number of Microsoft keyboards and mice, any SSD one can think of and a few other ‘hand built’ systems which we will describe in the following pages.
