    Hi the SSD Guy,

Much appreciate for your reply and help.

Yes i am using a direct installation of Windows 8.1 Pro actually. I am not worried about the driver, the drivers from MS and Intel are all fine and i know i should install the intel one after OS installation. The problem is the complicated compatibility issue I described in this thread previously.

And please also see the ASUS reply from ASUS ROG Forum about my headache today:

ROG Users careful about new Intel P3700 NVME PCIE SSD and Maximus 7 Hero

Actually i am a bit disappointed about their reply.

I have paid 200 USD for the ASUS M7H MB, and over 1300 USD for the P3700, and i really need to be more careful if i plan to buy a new ASROCK Extreme 6 or ASROCK Professional (I like red color better) this time.

Yes, I would be a bit disappointed with that discussion as well. The best way to make sure it works is to use one of the two boards we have used it on...

    Hi the SSD guy.

    Thanks for your help.

I bought a AsRock Z97 Extreme 6 and it works well with my P3700 this time!

Although I much prefer the look of Maximus VII Hero, it appears that I don't have choice if I need to keep my P3700 SSD.

Thanks again, you are really kind and helpful!

ASUS has ruled the industry in this area for a long time; ASRock did not take that sitting down. I think, as I, you will find that the ASRock boards have alot to offer and seem to be well ahead of the ASUS game. Wasn't it a quick amd easy installation? Did you wonder "What the heck ASUS?"
